Effective environmental policy

On 16 June, espace.mobilité is founded in Zurich by the companies Coop, Idea, Maus Frères, Migros and Verband der Immobilien-Investoren (Association of Real Estate Investors – VIV). Their shared goal is to change the direction of urban planning and environmental policy. They wish to stop construction projects being delayed or terminated due to unilateral objections. Instead, espace.mobilité calls on the authorities and environmental organisations to adopt a more proportionate and realistic approach. The association's members set standards in terms of sustainability, energy-efficient construction and minimal land use per square metre of retail space, public transport links and efficient transport routes.
