Financial year 2024
The Migros Group generated sales of 32.5 billion CHF in 2024, once again exceeding the previous year’s figure. Group profit improved to 419 million CHF (previous year: 175 million). Migros is launching a Group-wide sustainability strategy focusing on people and nature. Migros will turn 100 in 2025 – and says MERCI.
Specialist stores
micasa is to be sold as part of a management buyout with private equity support. A holistic succession solution wasn't able to be found for Do it + Garden which means most of the stores will close by the end of June 2025. The Migros Cooperative Zurich will not be renewing its franchise agreement with Alnatura.
Recall
This recall is due to incorrect labelling on the back of the packaging. V-Love Plant-Based Cevapcici contains soya and wheat, which not indicated. Customers with a soya or wheat allergy or gluten intolerance are requested not to eat this product. It is safe for everyone else to consume.
Recall
Migros is recalling two products — the 'Milette meal set melamine tan 5-piece' and 'Milette meal set melamine zinc 5-piece' due to increased release of melamine and associated potential health hazards. Migros is asking its customers to return the two affected products. The purchase price will be refunded.
Tourism
Migros is set to sell almost the entire Hotelplan Group to the DERTOUR Group. The deal does not include holiday-home specialist Interhome, which will be taken over by the HomeToGo Group. The new owners are both well-established tourism companies and thus ideally positioned to successfully pursue the ongoing development of the Hotelplan Group's specialist fields: travel and holiday homes. The services offered by the Hotelplan Group and Interhome as well as associated bookings will remain unchanged for customers and sales partners alike.
Plant based products
The Elsa Group sells its Dutch subsidiary SoFine to The New Originals Company in order to make optimum use of its specialization in plant-based products and secure the future success of SoFine. The sale will have no negative impact on employees. Migros is thus also solely focusing on the Swiss market in the plant-based product categories.
Corporate Citizenship
The Federation of Migros Cooperatives is breaking off the Social Affairs unit from the HRM department in which it was previously integrated and is creating a new unit. Andrea Krapf, the current Head of Department, will head up the new unit.
OBI Shops
The OBI Group is assuming control of the ten existing OBI locations, plus one Migros OBI store still under construction as well as two large Do it + Garden stores. The 576 employees and 61 apprentices will continue to be employed by the new owner.
