At the end of 1936, the independent National Councillors, one of whom is Gottlieb Duttweiler, found a new political party called the "Landesring der Unabhängigen" (LdU). The party is formed in the Strohhaus in Rüschlikon in the "Park in Grüene," which is still open to the public today. Over the following years, Duttweiler and his party make a big impact in the Swiss Federal Parliament and try to gain greater political sway.
