Honorary citizen of Capolago

The municipality of Capolago in Ticino makes Gottlieb Duttweiler an honorary citizen. It was thanks to him that the Monte Generoso railway, which stood on the brink of ruin, was purchased. Gottlieb is so delighted by this honour that he gives the pupils of Capolago new school equipment. Gottlieb Duttweiler also welcomes the primary school pupils from this community on their visit to Zurich on 29 May 1962. They spend an eventful day together in Zurich and Rüschlikon. The following year, Adele Duttweiler travels to Capolago for the opening ceremony of the "Piazza Gottlieb Duttweiler."
