Migros turns 50

Employees and retirees receive anniversary bonuses of CHF 50 for each year of service, while cooperative members are given special promotions to mark Migros' 50th birthday, which is celebrated on 11 September at the Tonhalle and Kongresshaus Zurich with an address by Federal Councillor G.A. Chevallaz. Brigitte Walser-Rohner and her rather sceptical-looking son Lukas in Thun are delighted when a Migros delegation congratulates her on becoming the millionth member of the cooperative.
