Shake-up at the top

After 40 years working for the Migros community, including six years as Managing Director of the Vaud cooperative, Michel Renevey takes early retirement. His successor, Philippe Bürki, takes up his position on 1 January. The Vaud cooperative employs 4,500 staff, has over 50 sales outlets and generates sales of CHF 1.2 billion. At its December meeting, the Board of Directors of Hotelplan Group appoints Christof Zuber as the new Group CEO. Claus M. Niederer, who had managed the company since 1995, retires at the end of September 2004. Harald Nedwed takes over overall management of Migros Bank on 1 September. Erich Hort, former CEO, retires at the beginning of 2004, but continues to serve as a member of the Board of Directors. Erich Hort led Migros Bank to become one of the top six Swiss banks during his 15-year tenure. In September, Hedy Graber is appointed as the successor to Jana Caniga, Head of Culture and Social Affairs.
