Six major players join forces

On 10 May, the companies Migros, Charles Vögele, Valora, Denner, Manor and Coop found the Swiss Retail Interest Group (Interessengemeinschaft Detailhandel Schweiz – IG DHS). The goal is to highlight the huge economic importance of this dynamic industry and its contribution to good employment opportunities and quality of life. It also seeks to raise public and political awareness of the major issues facing the retail industry. The six member companies remain competitors on the market, but wish to represent their interests jointly for the benefit of consumers. Major issues: Switzerland as a high-price island, agricultural policy, VAT.
