In July, the first trials on underwater tanks for storing grain are started on Lake Thun. While the results are impressive, the public authorities reject Duttweiler's idea. But he doesn't give up. Further experiments with 2,765 barrels of coconut oil are carried out on Lake Alpnach until the summer of 1955.
