Marketplace of the future

The Westside recreational and shopping centre in Bern opens its doors on 8 October. Migros Aare, which initiated this project, appoints the world-famous architect Daniel Libeskind, who also designed the new World Trade Center at Ground Zero in New York, in an architectural competition. Migros Aare, which owns and runs the futuristic shopping mall constructed in line with Minergie standards, is very proud of this marketplace of the future – it contains 55 stores, covering a total retail space of 23,500 m², around ten restaurants, an adventure pool with spa and fitness suite, eleven cinemas, a hotel and a retirement home with 95 apartments and comprehensive services.
