By adopting its new sustainability strategy, Migros recognises its responsibility for people and the environment. The entire Migros Group adopts a comprehensive sustainability strategy for the first time. The strategy sets out ambitious goals and aims to achieve a greater impact through cooperation between the entire Migros Group. The main goal is to make sustainable consumption accessible to everyone. The Migros Group pledges to provide sustainable, socially equitable and animal-friendly products and services at affordable prices.
All of the companies within the Group – including Denner, Digitec Galaxus, Migros Bank and Medbase – contribute towards attaining these goals. The strategy focuses on people and nature – with the overarching priority of ensuring we leave a planet worth living on for future generations.
Over the long term, Migros is focussing on six strategic priorities:
• Climate: We will reduce greenhouse gas emissions in our own operations and across our value chains to net zero by 2050.
• Biodiversity: The Migros Group will make a significant contribution to the protection of biodiversity and regeneration of nature by 2050.
• Circular economy: The Migros Group aims to ensure closed-loop solutions for existing materials and products by 2050, thereby protecting biodiversity and the climate.
• Product responsibility: We offer all of our customers sustainable, socially responsible and animal-friendly products and services at an affordable price.
• Marketing & consumption: The Migros Group aims to enable customers to adopt a sustainable lifestyle by including suitable products in its range and by providing relevant information.
• Human rights and employment conditions: The Migros Group places the well-being of people and the promotion of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities at the heart of everything it does.
