To tackle the clearing of tropical rainforests, Migros and WWF Switzerland set up the "Sustainable Palm Oil" project. Migros receives an international award for this pioneering initiative on 31 August in Johannesburg. Anton Scherrer is also named "Eco-Manager of the Year" on 26 November in Berlin by the business magazine "Capital" and the WWF. This prestigious award recognises Migros' overall ethical commitment which is highlighted by ten different labels displayed on its products.
