Digital voting at Migros

E-voting can now be used for ballots at the ten Migros cooperatives. Here’s how it works.

The ballot votes held at the regional cooperatives are a key part of democracy at Migros. As a Migros cooperative member, you can vote on statutory business and other matters once a year.

Vote digitally and help to cut down the amount of paper used

As of 2025, you will also have the option of casting your vote via e-voting – a convenient online procedure without the need for any paper. The voting procedure is secure and anonymous. Migros never knows how individual cooperative members vote.

How digital voting works

  1. You must be a cooperative member to vote in ballots.

  2. A Migros Account is required for digital voting. You can log into your account or register here.

  3. Select the “Cooperatives” section in the menu.

  4. You may have to activate your cooperative membership digitally first. To do so, you will require your share certificate number. This can be found on your membership card or in the Migros magazine.

  5. Click on the “Vote online” button and accept the terms of use. Now you’re ready to go!

Would you prefer to continue voting by ballot paper?

In your Migros Account, you can choose whether you would prefer to vote online or to continue voting by post. If you haven’t linked your digital cooperative membership to your Migros Account, you will continue to receive the voting documents by post and to cast your vote using the paper ballot slip.

How can I find out when voting starts?

Before voting opens, you will receive information by email and a link to e-voting in good time. Voting is quick and easy with access to the procedure via your Migros login. An additional security question will be asked to ensure you really are the person voting.

A big thank-you

Once you’ve cast your vote online, you’ll receive a digital Cumulus voucher for a free chocolate bar in all cooperatives. This can be redeemed at any Migros branch.

Important: The articles of association and voting regulations of the respective cooperative govern which items are put to the vote and how the ballot procedure is conducted.
