First store to open at Baden train station
"mio by migrolino" stores to open at Swiss train stations for the first time

With the opening of the first mio store at Baden train station on July 3, migrolino is laying the groundwork for the future. The "mio by migrolino" minimum-space format stores could previously only be found at gas stations. They enable commuters and travelers to shop quickly. Additional locations at transport hubs are set to be introduced by the end of 2026.
Train stations and other transport hubs enjoy very high footfall. However, people only spend a short space of time in them. "mio by migrolino" provides fast, convenient shopping solutions in response to the mobile population's changing needs. Commuters and travelers can do their shopping in less than a minute - which is ideal when changing connection or waiting for a train. Customers can find up to 2,000 items in a retail space no larger than 80 m² – Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m.
First store to open at Baden train station
The very first mio store was launched in 2020, and the minimum-space format stores can now be found at 56 gas stations. Taking the next step: the opening in Baden sees migrolino open the mio store concept at a train station for the first time ever. Thanks to high footfall and strong demand for fresh baked goods, coffee specialties as well as take-away products and delicacies, this is an ideal location. This enables migrolino to tap into new customer groups and provide train passengers and residents with fresh sandwiches, bowls, baked goods and well-known migrolino and Migros own-brand products at Migros prices and quality standards in very small retail spaces.
mio expansion continues
More mio stores will open at train stations this year and next. The mio store network at gas stations will be expanded too.
mio complements migrolino
"The mio concept has successfully established itself at gas stations over the past five years, which is why we will be rolling it out at train stations throughout Switzerland over the next few years," says Lorence Weiss, CEO of migrolino. "mio is a small version of migrolino and an ideal addition to our portfolio. Both store formats meet the different needs of our customers," explains Lorence Weiss.
The company is already represented with migrolino stores at over 50 train stations in Switzerland.
