Migros began selling organic products way back in the 1960s, and launched its own organic line in 1995 under the "Bio" brand name. 15 years on, Migros now stocks over 1000 organic products and is constantly expanding its range in all product areas. Organic products are becoming really popular in the bread, dairy, meat and frozen food ranges. An ever-increasing number of Swiss people are prioritising a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. The significantly expanded range is not the only change as the organic packaging and Migros Bio logo are new too. Migros takes a huge step towards sustainability in its coffee range in 2010: by the end of the year, the Migros Industrie company Delica switches production of all coffee brands in its basic range to "UTZ Certified." UTZ Certified is an independent non-profit organisation of the same name headquartered in Amsterdam. UTZ-certified coffee is produced with great awareness of people and the environment.
