Assemblies of Delegates

After the introduction of corporate governance, the delegates can finally elect the members of the FMC Board of Directors for the 2004–08 term of office at their assembly on 27 March (term begins on 1 July 2004). Claude Hauser, the current President of the Board of Directors, is confirmed in office. Anton Scherrer is appointed as a member of the Board of Directors in his role as President of the Executive Board. The 153rd Assembly of Delegates is held on 24 August. After the ballot, it must then be reconstituted. Almost half of the 110 delegates are newly appointed. Kurt Pfister is elected President for another four-year term. At its meeting on 29 October, the FMC Board of Directors appoints Herbert Bolliger, Managing Director of the Aare Cooperative, as the successor to Anton Scherrer. At the 154th Assembly of Delegates held on 30 October, Herbert Bolliger is officially appointed to the Board of Directors in his new role as President of the Executive Board. He takes up office on 1 July 2005, while Pierre Arnold evokes an emotional response at this meeting. After 47 years of tireless dedication, he unexpectedly announces that he wishes to step down as Chairman of the Gottlieb and Adele Duttweiler Foundation, his final position at Migros, at the end of the year.
