The Federation of Migros Cooperatives (FMC) has decided to offer bestsmile’s patients care at zahnarztzentrum.ch in the future. This step enables the high standard of dental care to be maintained and improved, underlining the Migros Group’s commitment to sustainable healthcare in Switzerland.

Since being founded in 2018, bestsmile has established itself in the Swiss dental industry, providing transparent aligners for correcting misaligned teeth as well as aesthetic veneers. In 2022, the company was acquired outright by the Federation of Migros Cooperatives.

Due to various factors, including the challenging market situation, bestsmile performed a business analysis at the beginning of 2024 and restructured the entire company as a result. However, the results of recent months have failed to meet the targets set. The FMC Board of Directors has now decided to offer existing bestsmile patients the opportunity to continue their treatment at zahnarztzentrum.ch. The bestsmile locations will be gradually closed down.

Unfortunately, job cuts appear unavoidable. A consultation process has been initiated for the employees affected. A decision on the detailed measures will be made once the consultation process has been completed.

All bestsmile patients who are currently undergoing treatment will be able to continue this either at the remaining bestsmile practices or at one of the zahnarztzentrum.ch locations. They will be notified individually about the next steps by the end of October.

Zahnarztzentrum.ch is the leading provider of dental services in Switzerland and is part of the Medbase Group. It has 43 locations and employs more than 300 dentists and specialists in orthodontics, dental implants, oral surgery and dental hygiene.
