Neuroth Group invests in Misenso

Press release

Misenso was founded as a Migros subsidiary in 2020 and operates 25 specialist stores throughout Switzerland today, employing around 200 people. The company sells hearing aids and glasses at fair prices in shop-in-shop sales areas within Migros supermarkets and in Migros shopping centres.

As the new owner, the Neuroth Group will continue to operate Misenso under its current name and at its current locations. The Misenso employees and management will be taken on with the company. Nothing will change for Misenso customers: service and warranty will continue to be provided just as reliably as before, and Cumulus points can still be collected. For the customers of the Neuroth hearing centres, too, everything remains the same.

Neuroth Group – anchored in Switzerland

The Neuroth Group, founded over 115 years ago and headquartered in Graz, Austria, is one of Europe’s leading hearing acoustics companies and has been firmly established in the Swiss market for over 20 years as a quality provider with around 85 hearing centres under the Neuroth name. Lukas Schinko, who is in the fourth generation of his family to manage the Neuroth Group as CEO and personally resides in Switzerland, says: “Switzerland is one of our most important markets. We are underlining this strategic importance with the acquisition of Misenso. The Neuroth Group is committed to its regional roots in Switzerland with both Neuroth and Misenso. We are ambitious and want to continue on our successful path with both brands; we want to keep growing and thus further strengthen our overall competitive position.”

Migros – focus on basic medical care and pharmacies

Even after the sale of Misenso, the healthcare sector will remain one of the Migros Group’s four strategic business segments alongside food, non-food and financial services. The Medbase Group is pursuing a sustainable growth strategy with a focus on integrated primary healthcare. Its aim is to ensure easy physical or digital access to medical and therapeutic services – via medical centres, psychotherapeutic contact points (WePractice), dental centres (zahnarztzentrum.ch) and pharmacies (Medbase pharmacies and the online pharmacy “Zur Rose”). In the specialised medical field of hearing-aid acoustics and ophthalmic optics, the Neuroth Group offers better development opportunities as the new owner of Misenso.

The Misenso concept ensures that customers not only enjoy fair prices and expert advice from specialist staff, but also an easily accessible range of products.
