With his appointment as Head of Near/Non-Food as of 1 January 2025, Stefan Zuercher will become a member of the Executive Board of Migros Supermarket Ltd. He replaces Ruth Vögtlin, who headed the division for more than four years and will retire in spring 2025.

The 43-year-old Stefan Zuercher brings a wealth of experience from the retail sector: he has been responsible for the overall strategic and operational management of Migros Eastern Switzerland’s specialist stores since 2020. Prior to this, Stefan Zuercher worked for Manor for 14 years, most recently as Regional Director for the non-food, supermarkets and food service divisions, from 2018 to 2019 for the 24 Manor department stores in German-speaking Switzerland and from 2014 to 2017 for the Manor department stores in French-speaking Switzerland. From 2011 to 2014, he served as head of the “Centro Manor S. Antonino” department store in Ticino.

“With Stefan Zuercher, we are gaining another experienced professional who is very familiar with changing customer needs and is able to successfully position Migros’ near/non-food segment even under tougher market conditions”, says Peter Diethelm, CEO of Migros Supermarket Ltd. “At the same time, I would like to thank Ruth Vögtlin for her many years of dedicated service and the successful transfer of the Near/Non-Food division to MSM AG and wish her a great start to the new phase of her life.”
