Are you one of those people who like to enjoy their morning coffee in bed? Then you'll probably find the following hack useful.
Mattresses usually accompany us for many years, and they have to withstand a lot, from night sweats to morning coffee. The odd stain or two will accumulate over time. But that’s not a problem because there’s a handy tip you can use to freshen up your mattress and remove signs of wear.
Baking powder
Vinegar or hot water
A cloth
A vacuum cleaner
Remove all the covers from your mattress, sprinkle baking powder evenly over the entire mattress and rub it in lightly with a fine brush.
Leave the baking powder to work for 12 hours, during which time it neutralises odours and absorbs moisture.
Hoover up the baking powder. Your mattress will then be almost as good as new!
For tougher stains, you can mix the baking powder with vinegar or hot water to form a runny paste and dab it onto the stain with a cloth. Allow to dry, brush out the stain and treat with a damp sponge and water if necessary.
