Four Cooperatives, one goal: from 1 July 2025, the Migros cooperatives in French-speaking Switzerland will be rolling out an efficient shared logistics system. Ecublens (canton of Vaud) is set to become the centre for this system. Geneva and Martigny will become decentralised trans-shipment hubs.

The Migros Cooperatives of Geneva, Neuchâtel-Fribourg, Vaud and Valais are pooling their logistics. This important step will simplify processes, increase efficiency levels and utilise regional and national strengths. The aim is to create a sustainable and efficient logistics system.

The new logistics model is based on a clear structure: a fulfilment centre in Ecublens as well as decentralised hubs in Geneva and Martigny. Ecublens will gradually implement the pooling of all logistics services in French-speaking Switzerland from 1 July 2025 onwards. At the same time, the operations centres of the four French-speaking Migros Cooperatives will be integrated into the organisational structure of Migros Logistique Romande (MLR SA), which is already responsible for the joint refrigerated logistics. All 500 logistics employees in French-speaking Switzerland will be taken on as of 1 July. Their employment relationships will remain unchanged.

The cooperation between the Migros cooperatives in French-speaking Switzerland is being taken to a new level, processes are being simplified and customer needs are being met even better.

Rainer Baumann, COO of the Migros Group and responsible for logistics: "We are creating sustainable structures for the long term – for the French-speaking regions of Switzerland and for the Migros Group as a whole. We are thus consistently implementing our logistics strategy."
