To mark its 100th anniversary, Migros celebrated its origins, values and achievements in style in 2025. It is now clearly focussing on the future. The Board of Directors of the Federation of Migros Cooperatives has presented its Vision 2035 to the Assembly of Delegates. The Assembly of Delegates approved the vision unanimously.

The vision defines the Migros Group's long-term direction of travel, sets priorities for the coming years and provides employees with guidance in their daily activities. It is based on the guiding principle of "A Switzerland providing high quality of life for everyone" and is made up of three key elements:

Firstly, Migros is first choice in everyday life. It sets standards for day-to-day services and focusses on the needs of the people. It wows customers with high-quality products and services in the areas of nutrition, health, everyday goods and finance. It makes no compromises in terms of value for money.

Secondly, the strong Migros community is the driving force behind its success. Employees, cooperative members and customers are the heartbeat of Migros and play a vital role in shaping it. Together, they are integral to the Group's success and create a sense of trust and identification. The Migros Group promotes co-determination, opens up perspectives and aims to establish trust.

Thirdly, the Migros Group uses its commercial success for the benefit of everyone. As a cooperative, it gives back a significant share of its profits in a targeted way: on the one hand, to society through investments in education, culture, leisure and sustainability; and on the other, to the Migros community, in other words, customers, cooperative members and employees. Migros ensures they benefit from its successful performance.

Edith Spillmann, President of the Assembly of Delegates, says: "I'm delighted that the vision went down so well with the delegates. It shows how we can play an active role in shaping the future as a community."

Migros is ideally positioned to implement this vision in its day-to-day activities with its four strategic business segments: Food (including Migros, Denner and Migrolino), Non-Food (Digitec Galaxus), Financial Services (Migros Bank) and Health (Medbase and movemi). These companies make a major contribution to delivering key services for the Swiss population and achieving the vision of a Switzerland that provides high quality of life for everyone.

Ursula Nold, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, says: "Migros has always been so much more than just a company – it also represents an ideal to ensure a better society. This vision enables us to build on this tradition and assume responsibility for the future. We want to be there for people and play a key role in shaping Switzerland."

Building on the vision, the next steps will focus on how the role of the 2.3 million cooperative members can be refined, how customer benefits can be enhanced across the entire Group and how the Migros Group can be developed in organisational terms. This means it remains true to its pledge of creating a Switzerland that provides high quality of life for everyone – now and in future.
