Under her leadership, this area made major progress and underwent strategic and organizational development. She will now assume responsibility for the Migros Group’s social and cultural commitment at national level on September 1, 2024.

“I am delighted that we have been able to recruit Mira Song, a proven leader, for this important role. She not only brings extensive expertise in the field of culture, but also a proven track record in the strategic development and management of projects,” says Andrea Krapf, Head of HRM and Commitment Migros Group and member of the Executive Board.

“It is a great honor for me to take over as Head of the Directorate of Social Affairs and Culture,” says Mira Song. “I look forward to promoting and developing cultural and social initiatives – while always keeping my finger on the pulse. With a strong team and the support of our partners, we will continue to drive forward innovative projects and make a positive contribution to society.”

About the social commitment of the Migros Group

The social commitment of the Migros Group (Migros Commitment) combines the three funding vehicles Migros Culture Percentage, Migros Pioneer Fund and Migros Aid Fund. The Migros Culture Percentage supports cultural and social initiatives for creative artists, socially engaged people and the general public. The Migros Culture Percentage includes the Migros Club School, the Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute, the Migros Museum for Contemporary Art, the four “Parks im Grünen” (green meadow parks) and the Monte Generoso railway. The Migros Culture Percentage invests over 140 million Swiss francs every year. The Migros Pioneer Fund has also been promoting bold ideas and turning ambitious plans into concrete solutions since 2012. The Migros Group companies support the Migros Pioneer Fund with around 15 million Swiss francs per year. The Migros Aid Fund has been promoting social and environmental projects in Switzerland and abroad since 1979. The Federation of Migros Cooperatives provides one million Swiss francs annually for this purpose. Each year, this benefits around 20 projects run by well-known international development organizations as well as non-profit organizations active in Switzerland. The Social Affairs and Culture Department is responsible for the direction of the Migros Culture Percentage and the Migros Pioneer Fund within Switzerland.
