Payroll communication 2025
Migros increases payroll by up to 1.3% and offsets inflation again
Zurich - Following negotiation with all the social partners, Migros has signed an agreement with the National Commission and the Butchers' Staff Association for salary increases of 1% to 1.3% for Migros companies subject to the national collective employment agreement. In so doing, Migros has shown its appreciation of its workforce, even in times of change, and is once again offsetting inflation.
The Migros Group has set pay rises of between 1% and 1.3% for 2025, generally worth at least CHF 50 a month for full-time employees. Priority is to be given to lower wages. The increase was negotiated with all the social partners and signed together with the National Commission (LAKO) and the Butchers' Staff Association. The Swiss Association of Commercial Employees (ACE) has recognised the outcome of the talks. The agreed salary range applies to Migros companies that are subject to the national collective employment agreement (L-GAV).
Migros shows its appreciation even in times of change
Migros is currently undergoing its greatest transformation in decades. Nevertheless, it has decided to allocate a budget for pay rises that will enable individual Migros companies to offset an expected inflation rate of 1.2% (source: SECO) or more for 2024. It is doing so despite the positive real wage developments of recent years. "It is extremely important to me that we also show our employees financially how much we appreciate them in times of major change," says Andrea Krapf, a member of the FMC Executive Board.
Promoting a good work-life balance
Migros offers flexible parental leave - even for the parent it doesn't employ. A variety of working and holiday models help its staff to combine working with raising a family. Since 1 January 2023, families on low incomes have received child allowances higher than the statutory minimum.
Preferential conditions for employees
Migros employees who fall under the L-GAV benefit from generous pension contributions, two-thirds of which are paid by their employer. Staff also receive comprehensive additional benefits in the form of special offers for employees, loyalty bonuses and additional Cumulus points.
Guaranteed wage equality
One constant principle applied at Migros is: "Equal pay for work of equal value". Migros companies conduct wage-equality analyses for the 'We Pay Fair' label in cooperation with the Competence Centre for Diversity & Inclusion (CCDI) at the University of St. Gallen.
