Baking soda or baking powder can be used to clear a blocked drain in no time at all in a quick, cheap and eco-friendly way.
Grease and leftover food in the kitchen, soap, toothpaste and hair in the bathroom: sometimes it doesn't take much to block a drain. That's really annoying. Luckily, multi-purpose household baking soda and baking powder provide a solution. They can be used to clear drains quickly and inexpensively without the use of chemicals.
4 tbsp baking soda or baking powder
½ cup vinegar (table or cider vinegar)
Remove the drain strainer (if present) and pour four tablespoons of baking soda or baking powder down the drain.
Now add half a cup of vinegar. The mixture will start foaming.
As soon as the foaming stops, rinse with hot water to clear the drain.
