Elsa Group sells Idhéa to French cold sauce specialist GYMA

Elsa Group sells its French subsidiary Idhéa to GYMA in order to concentrate on its dairy and cheese products portfolio in Switzerland and allow Idhéa to develop. The sale will have no negative impact on our employees. Migros is thus clearly focusing on the Swiss market, including in the sauces category.
Elsa Group is selling its Idhéa subsidiary to GYMA, a French company specialising in cold sauces. Idhéa, based in Hochfelden, France, produces cold sauces and spices for the catering trade, the food industry and European supermarkets. In addition, it supplies the Migros supermarkets with a highly appreciated range of products which will continue to be offered after the sale.
"GYMA is the ideal partner for the future development and success of this business," said Matthew Robin, CEO of Elsa Group, commenting on the sale. GYMAis taking over both the production site and the 150 employees.
"We are delighted to be integrating Idhéa's industrial site at Hochfelden in Alsace into the GYMA-COMEXO Alliance.our expertise in sauce recipes and packaging on a long-term basis, thanks to our industrial facilities and their highly qualified staff.
With Idhéa, we are expanding our range of recipes and packaging, which is already very popular with our customers and consumers.
We will continue to innovate in order to satisfy our customers even better and win new markets in Western Europe."says Pierre Helias, CEO and shareholder of GYMA.
Migros focuses on its core business in Switzerland
The sale of Idhéa is part of the refocusing of the Migros Group on its core business, announced by the company at the beginning of February 2024. The Migros Group focuses on retail (food and non-food), financial services (Migros Bank) and healthcare (Medbase Group). In the retail sector, it wants to convince its customers with attractive prices, top quality, good service and a wide range of products to suit all budgets.
The sale of Idhéa has no impact on Migros' positioning in its sauces product category, which continues to offer a varied range to its loyal customers.
