Migros has declared war on coffee capsules with its CoffeeB coffee balls. The age in which tons of aluminium capsules ended up in the rubbish could now be over. It’s all thanks to a “capsule-free capsule system’ based on a ball of pressed coffee powder encased in a thin film.
We introduce Carline Siefarth, who helped develop the system in secret at Delica over a period of five years. We ask her why CoffeeB balls are more environmentally friendly than coffee made from aluminium capsules or by fully automated coffee machines. And we show you what else you should do to make your coffee consumption as sustainable as possible.
