Upcycling
Is your towel getting worn out and stained? Then transform it into make-up remover pads! Upcycling is the magic word.
Re-purposing rather than throwing away: old towels can be reused in many different ways. You can transform them into a bib, use them as cleaning rags or – what this is all about – turn them into reusable make-up remover pads. This hack is doubly sustainable: firstly, you prolong the life of your towel, and secondly, you save on waste because you won’t need cotton pads in the future.
What you need:
An old towel
A sewing kit (or machine)
Scissors
Here’s what to do:
Draw two circles on the towel, each with a diameter of approx. 10cm. You can use a glass as a template, for example.
Cut out the circles.
Sew the two circles together along the edges with the “nice” side facing inwards. Leave an opening about two fingers wide.
Turn the make-up remover pad inside out.
Sew up the opening by hand. Your washable make-up remover pad is ready to use!
