Who is the new buyer?

Persán is a Seville-based, family-run Spanish business that produces household and personal care products. It currently employs 2,000 people at three plants in Spain, Poland and France. Adding the employees of the Mibelle Group will increase Persán's workforce to over 3,000.

Yes. To ensure this, Migros and the new owners of the Mibelle Group have signed long-term supply agreements for these products. Migros will continue pursuing a strong own-brand strategy in the future.

What will happen to Mibelle's employees?

Persán is taking over all the employees and locations of the Mibelle Group. In total, Mibelle employs more than 1400 people in six countries, 750 of them at the factories in Buchs (AG) and Frenkendorf (BL) in Switzerland.

Where is Mibelle located?

The Mibelle Group has sites in Switzerland, France, the UK, the US, the Netherlands and Australia. Its South Korean subsidiary Gowoonsesang, which has about 250 employees, is no longer part of the Mibelle Group. It was aquired by L'Oréal S.A. in December 2024.

Why was Mibelle sold actually?

Because it had outgrown the Swiss market and no longer aligns with Migros' core focus. In future, Migros will concentrate more on its domestic market through its four strategic business areas of food, non-food, financial services and health. "Migros is pleased to have secured Persán as a partner for the Mibelle Group which will enable the company to continue its international growth trajectory of recent years," says Migros Industrie CEO Matthias Wunderlin.

How much did Persán pay for Mibelle?

The parties have agreed not to disclose the terms of the sale agreement, including the price.

Has Migros now completed its disposals?

Yes. Migros announced its restructuring plans a year ago. The sale of Mibelle has now completed this process. Migros aims to focus more intensely on its four strategic business areas of food, non-food, financial services and health.
