How water filter cartridges are recycled
The three parts of the cartridge are separated from each other. The activated carbon is returned to the original supplier, who reprocesses it and uses it again for various filter processes (e.g. in wastewater treatment). The recovered ion exchangers are also used: they are regenerated and reused as an admixture for the production of new filter cartridges. The recycled plastic cover is reused for park benches, for example.
